Moog has released a pair of all-purpose amplifiers for electronic instruments, the Model 112 and Model 210. MusicTech reported that both units are full-range, flat-response designs built for synths, keyboards, drum machines, electric guitars and modelling processors.
The compact Model 112 costs $799 and features a 12-inch woofer, a 1-inch compression driver, a frequency response of 40Hz to 20kHz and 440W RMS of bi-amplified power. A top handle makes it easy to move between the studio, rehearsals or the stage. The larger Model 210 retails for $999 and offers 550W RMS, dual 10-inch woofers, a 1-inch compression driver and low-frequency extension down to 35Hz.
Both models include integrated four-channel mixing, Bluetooth streaming, headphone monitoring and Stereo Link for two-amplifier setups. Moog Music president Joe Richardson said the amplifiers were designed to preserve an instrument’s sonic identity rather than colour it, MusicTech reported. He added that musicians deserve amplification that delivers their sound honestly, consistently and exactly as intended.
