Polyend has published the firmware source code for its Tracker, Tracker+ and Tracker Mini grooveboxes on GitHub, along with Tracker Community Edition 1.0, an installable firmware version that users can modify across all three instruments. gearnews reported that the release includes a built-in recovery system to prevent failed builds from damaging the hardware.

The Community Edition enables streaming of long samples from SD cards, records timing and velocity data while keeping step FX slots open, and allows plugins to load in the Sample Editor. It ships with six effects and generators plus a plugin SDK for custom development. All three models receive wavetable envelopes and LFOs, faster project loading and saving, and improved MIDI clock timing.

Tracker+ and Tracker Mini owners also gain two new synths called Chip and Dirt, along with an SDK for building additional instruments. gearnews reported that Polyend distinguishes tracker-ce from its earlier tracker-lib library, noting that tracker-lib handles project file workflows for external software while tracker-ce opens the device firmware itself for community-driven development.
