Music streaming service Spotify has introduced a dedicated in-vehicle application designed to operate directly on Audi automobiles’ infotainment systems. According to Mandy Dalugdug reporting for Music Business Worldwide, Audi is presently the initial car manufacturer to provide this feature.
Users can now access Spotify content via the vehicle’s integrated displays, speakers, and voice control functionality, eliminating the need for Bluetooth or wired connections to a mobile device. The application’s launch occurred on Wednesday, October 21, and is currently available through the Audi Application Store for five Audi models.
The initial rollout includes the electric A6 e-tron and Q6 e-tron, alongside the A5, Q5, and A6 models from the 2026 model year. Audi intends to extend this application’s availability to its Q7 and Q9 sport utility vehicles at the time of their introduction.
The new application, described by Spotify as its “next-generation in-car app,” is accessible to both free and premium subscribers. Audi asserts that it is the first carmaker to integrate Spotify’s complete native application experience directly into its vehicles, and an Audi connect package may be necessary for access.
