St. Louis Music has acquired exclusive global distribution rights for Recording King and The Loar. The agreement covers guitars, banjos and mandolins and was announced Aug. 1, 2025.
Under the agreement, St. Louis Music will manage worldwide sales, marketing and product development for the two fretted-instrument brands. The company said it will work with dealers and distributors to expand their availability.
Recording King makes guitars and banjos based on traditional American instrument designs. The Loar’s range includes archtop guitars and mandolins inspired by vintage acoustic instruments.
Chris Meikle, executive vice president and chief operating officer of St. Louis Music, said the brands fit the distributor’s existing business and dealer network. The agreement expands its presence in the fretted-instrument category.
St. Louis Music also owns Alvarez Guitars, Knilling String Instruments and Blessing Brass. Its U.S. distribution portfolio includes Dixon Drums and Hardware and P. Mauriat brass and woodwind instruments, as well as accessories sold through music retailers.
