Taylor Guitars has expanded its product lineup with five new Next Generation 12-fret Grand Concert models across the 500, 700, Koa and Presentation Series. Premier Guitar reported that the manufacturer designed these instruments to combine the playing comfort of a 12-fret neck joint with warm tonal characteristics driven by shifted bridge placement. This configuration moves the bridge closer to the center of the lower bout, changing how the soundboard responds to string energy.
CEO Andy Powers stated the design allows the soundboard to move more efficiently, resulting in enhanced midrange, sustain, and projection. The new models incorporate the Action Control Neck for adjustable string height, scalloped V-Class bracing for improved low-end presence, and Claria System electronics with soundhole-mounted controls. The 12-string 552ce model utilizes standard V-Class bracing to manage increased string tension while maintaining playability.
The collection ranges from the mahogany and cedar 512ce priced at $2,999 to the premium PS12ce Presentation Series model at $11,999. Other offerings include the all-koa K22ce Special Edition at $4,499, the Indian rosewood 712ce at $3,399, and the mahogany 12-string 552ce at $2,999. These units are available immediately through authorized Taylor dealers worldwide, with each guitar shipping with a Deluxe Hardshell Case included in the purchase.
