October 13, 2026: AlphaTheta announces its new Studio Plan, a subscription service with an easy-to-use digital audio workstation (DAW) that integrates with rekordbox, so DJs can take the next step into track editing, remixing, and music-making.
Many DJs aspire to develop their own style by creating original tracks, editing, and making remixes. But the cost of DAW software and the complexity of music production have traditionally been barriers to getting started.
Studio Plan makes music production accessible to a much wider range of DJs. It includes Bitwig Studio Essentials – an intuitive DAW that makes it easy to sketch, refine, and perform your ideas – and is available through an affordable subscription model. And it features seamless library integration and compatibility of track analysis data between rekordbox and Bitwig Studio Essentials, so you can bring your existing DJ music library directly into your production system. This offers a new creative experience, where your skills can naturally evolve and you can make your own remixes and original tracks to play in your DJ sets.
Working with Bitwig is part of AlphaTheta’s ongoing effort to give more creative power to DJs and producers through collaborations with a variety of partners.
Using the included DAW, Bitwig Studio Essentials, it’s easy to start building tracks by arranging audio and MIDI clips, even if you have no music production experience. The DAW comes with 40 instruments and effects, plus 10 modulators for adding movement to your sound, opening up a wide range of creative possibilities. Start by using songs from your DJ library as creative material, then naturally progress from track editing and remixing to creating your own original music.
Rekordbox and Bitwig Studio Essentials now integrate seamlessly, so you can browse your DJ library in Bitwig Studio and open tracks directly in a Bitwig project. Track information and analysis data, such as BPM and key info, plus Hot Cue and vocal positions are automatically transferred over, making it easy for you to build on the musical knowledge you’ve developed through DJing.
