West Yorkshire hire company 3D Productions has purchased two DiGiCo Quantum 326 consoles and two Quantum 225 DS units, along with two Fourier transform.engines and four 32-bit SD Racks, all supplied by Solotech, according to LSi Online.

General manager and hire manager Hazel Plummer told LSi Online that 3D Productions is receiving the first Quantum 225 DS consoles and that the units are already booked for multiple shows. The company, which began in the early 1990s as a lighting production business, has grown into West Yorkshire’s largest hire operation serving touring theatre, festivals, outdoor events and sporting fixtures.

Plummer said the company invested in DiGiCo Pulse software and will add Theatre software on demand, citing cueing functionality needed for touring theatre projects where clients run multiple versions of the same production simultaneously. The compact footprints of the Quantum 225 DS consoles suit theatre tours where space and budgets are constrained, while the Quantum 326s are slated for Opera North orchestral week with a Fourier transform.engine at front of house.

3D Productions also provides business-to-business support and dry hires, including remote-access system monitoring for sound designers who do not tour with productions after rehearsals. The company will supply SJM Concerts Sounds of the City in Leeds with a pair of Quantum 225 consoles this year.
