d&b audiotechnik has introduced MVR Exchange within the latest beta version of its ArrayCalc software, enabling users to import, export and update venue and loudspeaker system data using the open MVR standard.
According to fohonline.com, the feature connects audio planning more closely with lighting, staging and venue design workflows, reducing manual model recreation and data transfer across software platforms.
MVR, developed by Vectorworks, MA Lighting International and ROBE lighting, is an open DIN standard used by leading CAD, lighting and visualization platforms. It provides a manufacturer-neutral method for exchanging project information including venue geometry, staging, lighting and now loudspeaker system data.
Within ArrayCalc, users can import venue models from external applications, export sound system designs back into production workflows and update data as designs evolve. Exported loudspeaker data can be visualized and coordinated within CAD environments, supporting sightline verification, collision detection and project documentation.
d&b Product Manager Software Florian Hahn said the implementation prioritizes an open standard within ArrayCalc rather than a proprietary plugin for a single application, allowing venue and loudspeaker data to become part of a shared production workflow.
MVR Exchange is available as part of the current ArrayCalc beta, allowing users to test the workflow, share feedback and help shape future development.
