ENTTEC has released firmware updates for its S-PLAY lighting controllers. The SP1 and Lite models move to version 3.3.0, while the Mini moves to version 2.0.1.
The SP1 and Lite updates add remote access through an ENTTEC account. Users link a controller using a one-time authorization code, then access it through a secure URL. Sign-in, session timeouts and sign-in attempt limits are enforced. The feature does not require SSH or port forwarding and is not available on the Mini.
Cross-model sync lets SP1, Lite and Mini controllers discover one another on a network and synchronize playback. Each follower is assigned a universe grid matched to its capacity.
The Mini update doubles its capacity to four universes, 32 cues and 16 playlists. The release also includes fixes to cue playback speed, playlist crossfade timing, network startup, 16-bit scene values and output timing. ENTTEC advises backing up shows before updating. Firmware updates must be applied on the local network.
