SoloDallas has updated its flagship Schaffer Replica Storm pedal with top-mounted jacks, responding to overwhelming demand for a more pedalboard-friendly version of the classic circuit, Premier Guitar reported.

The new configuration retains all the components and features that have shaped the pedal’s iconic sound since its initial release over a decade ago. That includes the 100% analog limiter, overdrive, boost, line buffer and “goalpost” EQ circuit that SoloDallas reverse-engineered from the 1974 Schaffer-Vega Diversity System wireless unit. Premier Guitar notes that this pioneering wireless system was used by Angus Young, David Gilmour, EVH and other legendary guitarists throughout the 1970s and 1980s.

The updated pedal keeps its straightforward three-knob control set and carries a street price of $249, unchanged from the previous version. The report indicates the top-jack layout makes the unit a natural fit for an even broader range of pedalboards, while the graphic font is reminiscent of a Led Zeppelin album cover.
