HeadRush has unveiled its FRFR CAB Series, a collection of guitar amp cabinets created specifically for musicians who rely on modeling pedals for their tone. Premier Guitar reported that these units combine a classic amplifier aesthetic with modern Bluetooth connectivity, suiting them for practice sessions, rehearsals, and live shows. The lineup features two distinct models: the compact FRFR-8 CAB and the more powerful FRFR-12 CAB. Both are engineered to reproduce sounds from digital processors, amp profiles, and impulse responses with high fidelity, avoiding the sonic coloring typical of traditional guitar amplifiers.
The eight-inch model provides up to 480 watts of peak power, whereas the twelve-inch version reaches 750 watts for larger venues. Each cabinet houses a specialized low-frequency driver alongside a one-inch compression driver and a horn that spreads sound evenly across a wide angle. Users can adjust the audio quickly using a three-band equalizer with a variable high-cut filter to match any acoustic environment. Connection options include a combo input for various devices and an output for linking to public address systems. Additionally, integrated Bluetooth technology allows players to stream backing tracks directly. John Boudreau, the director of product development at HeadRush, noted that this series delivers precise sound reproduction while maintaining the physical presence and familiarity of a standard amp cabinet, ensuring consistency whether playing on stage or in a studio setting.
