HK Audio is expanding its presence in the South Korean market through a strategic product launch managed by local distributor Sama Sound. Installation reported that Sama Sound hosted a three-week Open House at its Seoul office to demonstrate the manufacturer’s new LUNAR and PORTABLE SUB loudspeaker families alongside the POLAR 8 MK2. The event ran from August 11 to 31 and attracted 120 visitors across fourteen opening days. Attendees included sound engineers, musicians, dealers, and students who gathered to evaluate the new equipment directly.

The showcase highlighted the LUNAR series, which features ten-, twelve-, and fifteen-inch active loudspeakers designed with simplified controls rather than complex LCD menus. Demonstrations also covered the PORTABLE SUB range of active subwoofers, emphasizing their filter presets for various top speaker configurations. Sama Sound converted an internal rehearsal room into a dedicated listening space to facilitate hands-on comparisons for small groups of up to five visitors per session.

Jason Moon, product manager at Sama Sound, stated the initiative aims to increase brand visibility among younger audio professionals and generate direct product experiences. Building on this distribution effort, the company plans to host a larger HK Audio Experience Day in South Korea in October 2026 to further engage the local professional audio community.
