KORG has introduced LA Studio Drums, an expansion sound library for the KORG Module mobile sound module app for iPhone and iPad. The September 30 release centers on a studio-recorded acoustic kit with a jazz-oriented character for production, performance and practice.
The kit was recorded in the studio of a session drummer whose credits span film, television, commercials and video games. It uses handmade shells from the 1990s and custom snare drums, with sessions capturing both the drums and the natural ambience of the room.
Dry sounds are accompanied by an ambient variation that retains the depth and space of the recording room. Both stick and brush kits are included, allowing the library to cover brushed ballads as well as fuller studio grooves.
Users can play LA Studio Drums directly inside KORG Module, access it through the OSAKA gadget in KORG Gadget 3, or bring the sounds into compatible apps as an AUv3 plug-in. The company offers a seven-day trial through the KORG Module in-app store.
KORG Module provides a mobile sound library with dedicated Acoustic Piano, Electric Piano, Clav, Organ, Multi, Hybrid and Drum engines. It can be paired with a MIDI keyboard or played from on-screen keys, with expansion libraries adding sounds for live performance and mobile production.
