The Audio Engineering Society named digital audio technologist and educator Marina Bosi to deliver its Richard C. Heyser Memorial Lecture at AES Show Nashville 2026. The society’s Sept. 23 announcement scheduled the lecture for Oct. 31 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center.
The lecture, Making Every Bit Count: From Psychoacoustics to the Technologies Enabling the Digital Music Revolution, was announced as an examination of psychoacoustics and signal processing techniques that enabled high-quality audio using less data.
Bosi has served as AES president, treasurer, board member and Western Region vice president. She is an AES Fellow and recipient of the society’s Silver Medal.
A consulting professor at Stanford University since 1996, Bosi helped develop MPEG-2 Advanced Audio Coding and served as its official editor. Her industry work has included roles at Dolby Laboratories, DTS, MPEG LA and Digidesign.
The Heyser Lecture series was established in 1999 to bring leading figures in audio engineering and related fields to address topics of their choice.
