Neumann has expanded its Miniature Clip Mic System with the KK 15 supercardioid capsule and five MCM 115 instrument sets, according to a report from fohonline.com. The new additions target demanding live sound applications where increased feedback rejection and enhanced source separation are essential.

The KK 15 introduces a supercardioid pickup pattern to the MCM system, complementing the existing cardioid KK 14 and omnidirectional KK 13 capsules. Neumann states the tighter polar pattern delivers superior separation and a more direct sound, making it well suited to louder stages and crowded environments where maximum gain before feedback is critical.

Built around Neumann’s layered capsule design, the KK 15 features titanium housing and aims to overcome limitations traditionally associated with electret capsules, offering outstanding clarity and unit-to-unit consistency. Product Manager Jorma Marquardt said the exceptionally uniform supercardioid polar pattern provides tight focus while any remaining spill sounds natural without unwanted coloration.

Neumann is also launching five MCM 115 instrument sets featuring the KK 15 capsule. Each set includes the capsule, gooseneck, cable, MCM 100 output stage, dedicated instrument mounting clip, and carrying case for wired operation. The configurations are optimized for applications benefiting from the tighter pickup pattern and higher gain before feedback.

The expanded portfolio strengthens Neumann’s position in professional instrument miking within a single modular platform. The MCM system also integrates with wireless solutions, including Sennheiser’s Spectera ecosystem via updated AC 32 3-pin LEMO cables. The KK 15 capsule and all MCM 115 instrument sets will be available globally from calendar week 44, 2026.
