Sony has expanded its ULT POWER SOUND series with the launch of three new speaker models: the ULT TOWER MAX, ULT TOWER 7, and ULT TOWER 5. According to reporting by MusicTech, these units feature newly developed large circular woofers designed to deliver stronger low-frequency bass performance than previous iterations. The manufacturer positions this lineup to blur the lines between consumer and professional applications, catering to use cases ranging from DJing and karaoke to large-scale parties.
MusicTech notes that Sony developed the series with input from hip-hop sound creators, including Grammy-nominated producer Dot Da Genius and drummer Daru Jones. The flagship ULT TOWER MAX includes three woofers and outputs up to 2,150 watts, while the ULT TOWER 7 and ULT TOWER 5 offer 420 and 300 watts respectively. All models feature Sony’s signature ULT button with four sound profiles and support flexible vertical or horizontal positioning. Additional capabilities include 360-degree Party Sound on larger models, Enhanced Sound Field Optimization, and synchronized lighting modes.
The new speakers also support the Party Chain feature via Auracast broadcast to link multiple compatible units. MusicTech reports suggested retail prices of £1,299 for the MAX, £499 for the ULT TOWER 7, and £349 for the ULT TOWER 5. The entire ULT TOWER range is scheduled to become available in September 2026.
