Musical retail giant Thomann has announced the release of the MPS-1500 Hybrid-X, a new flagship model in the Millenium Drums range designed to serve as a comprehensive setup for players. According to MusicRadar, this product represents the pinnacle of the manufacturer’s current offerings, combining traditional wooden shells and mesh heads with a significant upgrade in electronics.
The core innovation lies in the Nexus Multi-Percussion Pad module, which merges drum module functionality with percussion pad performance in a single unit. MusicRadar reports the Nexus features nine freely assignable pads and allows users to adjust gain, threshold, sensitivity, mask time, and curve parameters for all triggers. The hardware includes eight balanced outputs, stereo and separate headphone jacks, plus USB MIDI connectivity and a port for external sample libraries.
Regarding storage and content, the system supports up to 500 MB via USB drive, accommodating approximately 600 samples. MusicRadar notes the kit comes pre-loaded with 3,622 sounds accessible through 160 kit slots, half of which are presets. This release positions Thomann’s house brand to compete more directly in the high-end hybrid electronic drum market by offering extensive sound customization and live-performance connectivity at a competitive price point.
