First Baptist Church Pasadena has installed two KLANG:vokal+ immersive in-ear monitor mixing systems in its 2,500-seat worship center, providing 24 individual mixes for contemporary and blended Sunday services.
According to LSi Online, the Texas church began with one KLANG:vokal+ and several KLANG:kontrollers in September 2025, paired with two newly acquired DiGiCo Quantum338 consoles for front-of-house and broadcast. All equipment was supplied by Springfield, Missouri-based pro audio dealer Paragon 360 and Paragon Direct.
The church relocated an existing DiGiCo SD10 to create its first dedicated monitor position, linked to the KLANG systems via MADI. Media director Brent Shore said the church initially mixed band and orchestra through KLANG while handling vocalists separately through the console before consolidating everyone into the KLANG ecosystem.
A second KLANG:vokal+ was added earlier this year, enabling vocalists to use the KLANG:app for self-mixing. Shore said KLANG’s spatial audio platform let musicians reposition instruments, producing clearer mixes than the previous IEM system, which offered limited volume control.
Shore also cited KLANG’s preset recall as critical for managing 15-20 minute changeovers between the choir-and-orchestra blended service and the band-only contemporary service, instantly restoring all kontroller and in-ear settings.
