HK Audio has expanded its POLAR MK2 column PA series with the POLAR 15 MK2, an active system featuring a 15-inch subwoofer, column loudspeaker and integrated M20 mounting point for lighting and other accessories, according to ProSoundWeb.
The subwoofer uses a multiplex enclosure designed to provide low-frequency output, while the aluminum column speaker reproduces vocals and instruments. A revised connector secures the column sections and spacer while allowing them to be removed for transport. The system includes ergonomic carrying handles, a padded bag for the column elements and a transport cover for the subwoofer.
The integrated M20 thread accommodates distance poles for compact lighting systems and other show equipment, potentially eliminating the need for separate stands. A built-in four-channel mixer includes two XLR/jack combo inputs for microphone or line signals, a high-impedance instrument input and an auxiliary channel for playback devices. Switchable phantom power supports condenser microphones.
Bluetooth 5.0 enables wireless audio streaming, and Bluetooth TWS allows two compatible systems to be paired for stereo playback. A USB-C port can charge smartphones, tablets and battery-powered wireless microphone receivers. DSP features include Music, Voice and DJ sound modes, a three-band EQ, semi-parametric midrange EQ and five user presets. A delay function also allows the system to be used as a delay line.
