Isla Electronics has released ASYX, a software instrument for Windows and macOS that recreates the sound of the Alesis Andromeda A6 analog synthesizer, according to synthtopia. The plugin is available now at approximately $136 USD.
The instrument includes two oscillators per voice, dual filters, three LFOs, three multi-stage envelopes, and a configurable modulation system, synthtopia reported. ASYX also offers a 16-step sequencer, arpeggiator, 29 digital effects, and more than 1,200 programs.
Existing Andromeda owners can import original SysEx programs and banks, exchange patches with compatible hardware, and use bidirectional MIDI connections so the A6’s physical controls can operate ASYX while supported parameter changes made in the software can be sent back to the hardware.
Each plugin instance supports up to 16 parts for keyboard splits and layered sounds, with per-part program, MIDI channel, key range, level, and output routing. The preset library includes original factory sounds and artist banks with search, filtering, and favorites support.
The dual filters model two designs associated with the original Andromeda A6: a 12 dB-per-octave multimode filter and a 24 dB-per-octave low-pass filter. The filters support low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, and notch responses, with series or parallel routing. Three seven-stage envelopes include delay, attack, two decay stages, sustain, and two release stages, with nine selectable curves available.
