4A Games slipped NVIDIA DLSS 5 Neural Rendering into Metro 2033 Redux through a free Next-Gen Update released Oct. 22, according to Tbreak Media UAE. A player discovered a DLSS 5 DLL matching the version used in NBA 2K27, and other players confirmed a DLSS-NR option in graphics settings.
Tbreak Media UAE reports that DSOGaming published full patch notes showing the Neural Rendering setting appears once DLSS is enabled. The same update covers Metro: Last Light Redux, which also supports Neural Rendering. Wccftech counts both titles as the second and third to officially support the feature.
4A Games’ own notes reference only DLSS support alongside AMD FSR and 4A TSR, without mentioning DLSS 5, according to Tbreak Media UAE. The update delivers 4K textures, improved PBR materials, Screen Space Global Illumination, uncapped frame rates and spatial audio, but no ray tracing.
VideoCardz reports the feature runs on GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs and RTX Spark systems, while older RTX card owners retain standard DLSS upscaling. Early player reports show a substantial performance cost, with DSOGaming screenshots showing frame rates dropping from 332 fps to 238 fps in one comparison.
The free update is available on Steam, Epic Games Store and GOG, with console and Windows Store versions scheduled for Oct. 29, Tbreak Media UAE reports.
