ILIO, a leading distributor of virtual instruments and audio processing software, and Overloud announce THU v2.2, a free update that brings Neural Amp Modeler (NAM) integration to THU Premium. The new NAM Player lets guitarists and producers load NAM captures directly into THU’s signal chain and combine them with Overloud’s modeled effects, cabinet simulations, and captured rigs.
NAM uses machine learning to reproduce the tone, distortion character, and dynamic response of real amplifiers and pedals at specific settings. Its open-source format and community-shared profiles have given guitarists access to a growing collection of captured sounds. THU Premium now brings those captures into a complete amp and effects environment, with 20 NAM profiles included to get users started.
NAM Captures Within a Complete Guitar Rig
The NAM Player integrates directly into THU’s flexible routing environment. Users can place one or more NAM Players anywhere in the signal chain, add overdrives before a capture, place delays and reverbs after it, and use THU’s cabinet processing and MIDI automation within the same plugin.
Beyond profile playback, the NAM Player adds several of Overloud’s proprietary technologies:
– NAM Tweak: Adjusts distortion character and response to playing dynamics, allowing users to tailor a capture’s sound and feel to their instrument and performance.
– Fluid Processing: Uses an AI-powered algorithm to recreate nonlinear speaker behavior that conventional cabinet impulse responses cannot reproduce.
– AIR “Amp In Room”: Adds the sense of space associated with hearing an amplifier in a room, particularly useful when monitoring through headphones.
The player also includes interactive amplifier-style tone controls, external cabinet IR loading for captures without a cabinet, and stereo processing when stereo effects precede it in the signal chain.
Free Update for THU Premium v2 Owners
The NAM Player and 20 NAM profiles are included at no additional cost for existing THU Premium v2 users. NAM Player access is exclusive to THU Premium.
