IZotope has introduced Photon, a standalone application and ARA2 plug-in for stem separation and audio enhancement. The software was launched Nov. 3, 2026.
Photon is the first collaboration between the iZotope and Boris FX research teams. According to the company, it uses 12 artificial intelligence models and runs locally on a computer’s graphics processor.
The standalone format allows users to work outside a digital audio workstation, while the ARA2 plug-in format provides another way to use the software in a supported production workflow. The company lists a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $349.
