Audio equipment manufacturer RØDE has unveiled the DS3, a refreshed version of its professional desktop studio arm, according to Pro Sound Web. The new model expands upon the features of its predecessor, the DS2, with improvements in load capacity, adjustability, and overall stability.
The DS3 boasts a 5 kg payload capacity, enabling support for heavier equipment such as large-diaphragm microphones, cameras, and lighting setups. A new ball head facilitates smooth and quiet adjustments, minimizing interruptions during recording or broadcasting. The arm’s central locking mechanism secures equipment at the chosen angle.
Maintaining the design of the DS2, the DS3 utilizes a weighted base for placement on flat surfaces, eliminating the need for a desk clamp and preventing instability. The redesigned base provides enhanced stability while maintaining a compact size. Each model includes acoustic isolation pads, with silicone for the black finish and cork for the white finish, along with cable clips for neat cable management and multiple thread adapters for compatibility.
