TiMax has introduced a new feature that allows AI assistants to work with its SoundHub software through the Model Context Protocol. This open standard enables AI tools to interact with software applications directly. The update is available at no cost and requires no separate license for users on both Mac and PC systems. The integration transforms initial show file creation into a conversational process, which can reduce manual work from several hours down to approximately 30 minutes. Sound designers can connect supported AI assistants to describe show requirements. This capability includes importing loudspeaker layouts from various files and creating, editing, and managing speaker positions, image definitions, and other spatial parameters.
The software also adjusts venue orientation when prediction files do not match the desired setup. TiMax has equipped the MCP server with specific knowledge about its software functions and spatial design concepts. Dan Higgott, TiMax product and software manager, states that this feature helps designers reach creative decisions more quickly. The tool is limited to initial setup tasks and does not affect creative design or live show operations. All generated content appears as standard TiMax objects that remain visible, editable, and reversible. If an AI assistant makes an error, the designer can still correct it using their own skills.
