Image-Line has released FL Studio Mobile 5, a free update that brings the company’s FL Cloud Sounds library to mobile devices for the first time, according to a MusicTech report. The update connects both free FL Mobile users and FL Cloud subscribers with the sample collection, giving free-plan users access to thousands of sounds while paid subscribers can tap into more than two million royalty-free sounds and samples.

The update also introduces a portrait edit mode, allowing users to edit vertically, which Image-Line CEO Constantin Koehncke described as one of the most requested features from the community. Koehncke said the company put a full music studio in people’s pockets ten years ago and is now taking another big step by bringing FL Cloud sounds to mobile.

MusicTech reports that users can browse sounds by genre, tags, or curated collections and preview samples in high quality via the cloud, with only selected sounds downloaded to devices to conserve storage. Additional improvements include enhanced mouse and keyboard support, new keyboard shortcuts, and the ability to burn editable notes onto tracks.

The update is free under Image-Line’s Lifetime Free Updates policy. New users can start a free FL Cloud trial, while FL Cloud Plus costs $99 per year and the Pro tier costs $149 per year, according to the report.
