Native Instruments has announced Massive XL, the newest generation of its flagship synthesizer platform and successor to Massive X, according to synthtopia. The software instrument introduces new creative tools — Preset Generator, Mutator, Morpher, and Animator — designed to help users discover, shape, and personalize sounds more quickly while retaining the deep synthesis engine and semi-modular open routing architecture of previous Massive versions.

Synthtopia reports that Massive XL features a redesigned interface, expanded sonic capabilities, improved modulation visibility, and workflow tools aimed at making the instrument’s depth more approachable. Senior Director of Product Management Tim Adnitt said the company focused on helping users reach desired sounds faster while delivering the character, flexibility, and control the Massive line is known for.

The product is available now as a download from native-instruments.com at $199, with an introductory price of $99 through December 31, 2026. Existing Massive X owners can update for $69, or $49 during the introductory period, while owners of the original Massive can crossgrade for $129, or $79 during the promotional window, synthtopia reports.
