Violet Audio has introduced Firmware V2 for its dMix 128 mixing system, a significant release designed to improve flexibility in how users share, manage, and set up their audio infrastructure. According to Lighting & Sound America, the update provides expanded capabilities for system operation.

A key feature of the new firmware is Mixer Split, which divides a single dMix 128 into up to four separate logical mixing environments. Each of these independent instances can be configured with distinct inputs, buses, effects, and scenes, allowing for varied applications. As reported by Lighting & Sound America, this allows front-of-house and monitor engineers to work from a common platform, and enables multiple rooms to have their own mixing setups.

Furthermore, the update incorporates shared preamp gain tracking, simplifying the use of shared microphone inputs among multiple operators. The included V2 offline editor and network manager facilitate show preparation and system configuration without needing a direct connection to the dMix 128 hardware. Violet Audio’s founder, Danny Olesh, noted that the dMix 128 was envisioned as a platform that could evolve alongside customer needs.
