Violet Audio has unveiled a new firmware update, version 2, for its dMix 128 mixing system, expanding its capabilities for sharing, operation, and configuration. According to Violet Audio, the update introduces several key features designed to increase flexibility and workflow efficiency.

The centerpiece of the update is Mixer Split, a feature that allows a single dMix 128 to be divided into up to four independent logical mixing instances. Each instance can be customized with its own inputs, buses, effects, DCAs, Shows, and Scenes, enabling front of house and monitor engineers to collaborate on the same system or providing separate mixing environments for multiple rooms. A new Shared-Preamp Gain Tracking feature also improves the practicality of shared inputs when multiple operators are involved.

Furthermore, the v2 update includes the V2 Offline Editor and Network Manager. The Offline Editor permits users to develop and edit Shows independently of a connected mixer, streamlining show preparation. The Network Manager simplifies device discovery and configuration by automatically identifying dMix 128 units regardless of their network settings.
