Analogue Solutions has opened preorders for the Series 700, a recreation of Roland’s rarely seen System 700 modular synthesizer, according to MusicTech. The British manufacturer debuted the system at Synthfest UK and is offering blocks individually or as a complete six-block package priced at £33,000.
MusicTech reports that Analogue Solutions reproduced nearly every circuit from the original mid-1970s schematics, substituting components only where parts are no longer available. The company added a single-channel MIDI-to-CV converter to sync the analogue CV sequencer but otherwise left the feature set unchanged. Custom knobs, slider caps, switches and potentiometers replicate the original look, housed in Tolex-wrapped wood cabinets with strap handles and blue-lined lids.
Individual block prices range from £3,000 for the interface and mixer to £13,000 for the main console. Analogue Solutions is developing a separate 701 keyboard controller based on Roland’s 701A, planned with four-CV-channel polyphony, velocity CV output, MIDI and Eurorack connectivity. The company will not produce a full manual, instead uploading the original System 700 documentation with a supplementary guide. Deposits are required, with build times varying by order size and queue position.
