Rise Diversity, an organization focused on diversity within the AV and broadcast sectors, has announced the launch of the Rise AV Awards. The inaugural event will be held in May 2027 and aims to acknowledge outstanding accomplishments across various facets of the audio-visual field. According to Rise Diversity, the awards will celebrate individuals and groups contributing to the industry's advancement, from technical roles to leadership positions.

Entries are currently being accepted across fourteen distinct categories, designed to recognize a broad spectrum of professionals. This includes students, apprentices, experienced specialists, business leaders, and organizations dedicated to supporting women in AV. Rise Diversity notes that women currently comprise only 9% of the AV workforce, and the awards are intended to showcase the diverse range of careers and innovation within the industry to encourage greater participation.

Sadie Groom, founder and CEO of Rise Diversity, emphasized the importance of visibility in attracting and retaining talent. She stated that demonstrating success for individuals who resemble aspiring professionals is key to broadening perceptions of the AV industry. The awards are accessible to people and organizations throughout the global AV, integration, production, and live events ecosystem. Most categories have a GBP 50 plus VAT entry fee, except for Rise AV sponsors who receive complimentary entries.
